Feeling Rejected?

You are Accepted!

Whether you’ve experienced rejection from a parent or someone you tried to befriend, rejection at any level does not feel good.  Sometimes it can even leave one asking the question, “What’s so wrong with me?” Truth is, there could be many reasons as to why someone doesn’t receive you and all of them no fault of your own.  Jesus was the Savior of the world and yet He too was rejected by men, but He didn’t let it shape how He viewed Himself. He knew who He was and never once doubted that truth, despite the negative words spoken against Him. Likewise, know that God accepts you, and regardless of whom you’ve received rejection from, know that you are valuable.

Think About It

Are you struggling with past or present experiences of rejection? Take a moment and list those times when you’ve felt rejected.

Take Action

Journal your thoughts and feelings.

1.  How did those experiences make you feel?

2.  Identify ways in which you are living in the shadow of those experiences

3.  For each item you listed in #2, write things you can do to counteract those negative ways of thinking and behaving.
