Experiencing a Trial?

The Purpose of Our Trials

Are the trials of life keeping your stomach in knots? Have they taken such a toll on your body that you find it difficult to recognize the person who stares back at you when you look in the mirror? The various trials that you and I experience in life are real. They can be challenging in every sense of the word, and sometimes they come into our lives after we’ve tried to do everything right. I’m the first to admit that in some cases it just doesn’t seem fair that you and I would have to experience these uncomfortable circumstances, but while their presence makes life uncomfortable, they do come with a purpose.

There are two important things to remember when experiencing a trial: (1) They happen to us all, and (2) We choose how we will allow them to impact us. Realize that you are not alone. Someone, probably not too far removed from you, has experienced exactly what you are going through and have survived. Don’t isolate yourself, and don’t fall into the trap of thinking you are alone in this experience. As God leads you, reach out and connect with another individual whose testimony can help strengthen you as you walk through this trial of life.

Secondly, know that YOU have the power to choose how this trial will impact you. Will you be overcome by the burdens that this experience brings, and allow them to attack your mind, body or spirit; or, will you allow the experience of these circumstances to produce something wonderful in you—something that will ultimately make you more into the image and likeness of Christ? James 1: 2-3 tells us to “consider it all joy when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” It may not be easy to lift up your head to find joy in the midst of a divorce, death of a loved one, financial ruin, etc., however if you can just get into the presence of the One who is a joy giver (Jesus Christ), He will exchange your sorrows for His joy.

Remember, you are not alone as you go through this season of trial. Trust that as you seek Jesus He will exchange your sorrow for His joy. When it’s all said and done you will discover that although the experience was rough, it produced something beautiful in you that resembles the image and likeness of our Heavenly Father.

I remind myself that the Divine wants be healthy, happy, safe and wise.
So, I tell myself…”I am safe and secure. All my needs are met.”

    Cheers!

I couldn’t agree more and you are right, you have to choose to be happy , choose the positive direction and choose the path that can help you defeat obstacles that come your way and take the Amor of God with you.
